Indian made mudguards

I am wondering why people dont leave bad feedback for bad products on ebay.

I bought an Indian made rear mudguards for a B33 plunger. I needed one and thought it looked ok in the pic and they claim best quality to fit plunger B33 it was rubbish. It didn't fit and was totally wrong bend and brackets in the wrong place. I could have made it better myself it looks like school kids made it.
I have put it along side a very good original and they obviously are not comparing to original when they make them.
I want to send it back to India but thats at my expense of post from India then back to India which would be $160 AUD.
I decided to leave bad feedback but obviously others havent in the past are they scared of receiving bad feedback in return. I'm sticking my neck out for others I hope others follow.
It seems this seller has good feedback for other items but I have seen these guards on ebay for ages so whats going on with all the guards out there surely this seller knows by now they are rubbish but they keep selling them.

Hmmm, price is really good though Terry  *smile*..
I had a similar experience with purchase of a front mudguard stay from a well recognised UK parts supplier last year. The description was "to fit the deep valance s/a front guard", perfect for what I needed and ordered it. When it arrived in Melbourne it was totally wrong shape for the deep valanced guard  *sad2*. When contacted they were VERY apologetic but could not offer anything else, so suggested I send it back (my cost of course) for a full refund. Unfortunately postage costs seriously outway this route very often as you found out too, so now I have a front stay that I need to modify substantially to fit.....

Terry,

I wonder what would have happened if you had asked them to send you a picture of the mold or stamping die used to make the part.  You might have recieved an image of an oil drum or a beer keg or someone's knee. At best, I'm thinking a carved wooden form over which the metal is pounded to shape.

Manosound. I don't think that there is any problem with their expertise a friend has visited the car plants where they have all the correct plant and Tata, who took over the ailing Jaguar Land Rover in the uk have achieved record profits. The problem seems to be the same as Chinese products which is a lack or total disregard for any quality control.

Evilbay makes it difficult for buyers to leave negative feed back.
However I regularly do.
The usual result is a full refund from the vendor provided that i remove the negative feed back.
This is why you do not see negative feed back
OTOH if you just leave a neutral feed back evil bay is fairly happy for that to happen although you still have to OK the feed back about 100 times

99% of the new parts on evil bay are junk.
On the left side of the evilbay window set the search parrameters to "used" thus all of thsi rubbish will not appear.
I am fairly sure that good reop ones are available from Melbourne but they are not cheap from "Trev the Tank" or some ting like that I am sure the Mexicans on the list will have his details.

FWIW Adam Higgins down in Morwell? Victoria makes new repro guards. These are blanks and require cutting and fitting. 03 5148 2838 I'm happy with the guard I bought from him at Scoresby Swap meet. Cheers TC

I notice though, that his front guards didn't have the indents for the front forks. A bit hard to do your own!

I had Adam make me a new front guard for my road rocket including the indents. I supplied him my old battered one as a pattern. His work is excellent. It was quite cheap to chrome as they didn't have to do much preparation on it.

Well the seller contacted me when I left negative feedback and said if I remove negative feedback he would refund the money.
I responded and said why do you sell these guards when you know they dont fit and are rubbish. I said refund the money and I will remove the negative feedback.

He did refund the cost of the guard including post by paypal and I changed my feedback to neutral but left a comment that said the guards are rubbish so anyone else thinking of buying one will be aware.
The only loser in this now is the seller so maybe they will lift their game when it starts costing them refunds of post cost as well.

The refund hasn't showed up in my bank account but by PAYPAL it shows that its been refunded. Does it take a while for PAYPAL to put it back into my account?

Terry

I think you have to transfer it to your bank account from your Paypal account yourself or it just sits in Paypal earning them more interest. That's how it used to be when I had a refund a while back unless it's changed.

Alternatively, if you pay for something else by Paypal they will use your credit balance first before taking money from your bank.

yes you have to manually move the money to your bank account.
However doing this will cost you a fee.
As the amount of interest you are loosing is almost nothing then leave it there till you buy some thing else,
