Seeing as how some swine has borrowed my Roy Bacon book and never given it back, can someone tell me what year the A7 - A10 was given an 8" front brake please?

Depends which brake you mean. The A10 had a single sided 8" right from the start, then they went to the Ariel type alloy hub and then to the cast full width 8". Are you trying to find out what brake was on a particular model, if so let us know what year and I am sure someone will know for sure.

Ahh. I think you may have just answered my question Brian. I need 2 pre-'62 8" inch brake for my Norton race outfit, to fit in with the regs. I was going to put them back to back on the leading link front end and enjoy the luxury of an 8" inch TLS!

Prewarbsa, use A65 front brakes if regs allow them, they have wider shoes, as Gold Star I believe, and lengthen the cam lever. I added 10 m/m to mine, but I don't see why you shouldn't add more. Good luck, and don't go over the top!
