Hi Bill , interesting story , but I'd have given my hind teeth to be at Bently Priory, not for the Queen but simply because other than HQ Strike Command , and more importantly to me , it was Dowdings HQ for Fighter Command during the Battle of Britain and as we all know but for him and all his people we'd probably not be riding our BSA's now to say the least ,the history in that place to me is fantastic ,fancy all your childhood heroes having been in one place . I rode past it on my first A10 one April morning on my way to Acton in '66 to visit my Brother nearly dropped the bike when I realised what the place was ,was only allowed to gaze through the gates for a short time has it was still an active RAF site then I was told to shift, cheers for the story, (arise sir Bill !!) BobH.
