Repair rigid / plunger clutch basket
« on: 16.07. 2012 07:54 »
Does anybody know if it is possible to replace knackered 2ba pins that hold the clutch cover on a plunger clutch. I have a good basket but 3 of the pins have threads that are totally knackered and I want to replace them. Do they unscrew or are they fitted for life ?

They will knock out. Put something solid behind them to support the basket and give them a smack and they will come out.

Then you need some new 2ba screws the right length to replace them with. Put the new screw in with a nut on it to hold it in place and then spot it with a mig or braze it to keep it in place.
