Hi Bill,
Thanks for that, just wasnt sure where dpaddock was going with his comment???
I always believed it was a GF so am happy with that.

I have changed everything but the float in the 930 carb, still to set up properly,
I have re-wired everything, and discovered it has the JG 12volt conversion already done (something which my dad didnt know as no bulbs etc were ever changed), waiting on new battery arriving.
New toolbox fastener, tricon switch, rear light, twist grip, bulbs, points, leads, plugs.

My plan is to get her running and legal within the next 12 months as then she will be 50.

Over time (wife says years) i will strip her (the bike) down and do a full restoration.

Let me know how you get on with the toolbox fastener, I have mine to do, I did one on my other Flash but can't say I'm happy with it, does'nt seem to be much metal on the soft washer to turn over.

Someone makes new toolbox fastners in stainless with a circlip rather than the washer peened over. Can't remember who sells them though. *red*

Your bike's engine number indicated that its a Flash engine, the alloy head was put on later, but unfortunately that doesn't make it a rocket.

The tinware and wheels aren't standard, so that is misleading, the rear wheel looks to be the QD type fitted to the Rocket, and the front has the TLS brake fitted to 60's A65s and triumphs.

In all probability, it is a flash, with an alloy head and after market everything else.

The only way to be certain of the [ORIGINAL] model is to get a certificate from the BSAOC, they have the factory records. This is based on the Frame number which gives the spec of the bike when it left the factory.

good luck with the rebuild
