Hi Gents... (and any Ladies..)
Just looking for some reassurance and recommended supplier....
I recently purchased [a very nice in my opinion] 1958 Super Rocket - which had had a complete engine rebuild.
Unfortunately when I got home from last outing there was some oil on engine - which was unusual as she has been oil tight for approx first 400 miles... on close inspection I found rocker oil feed pipe had sheared just above T connection to each side of engine
but there wasn't that much oil over engine, as the pipes were still making contact & in-line - at least when stationary.
I've taken tappet covers off and there is a dampness in there (of oil) - and engine was sounding ok so I'm hoping the pipe broke close to home and no damage has been done.
So questions please....
1. Is there a lot of oil pumped to rockers ? If so then it appears that not much was lost and/or it happened close to home - as there wasn't much spilt/lost on bike.
2. any recommended supplier - I've searched the net and found Supreme Motorcycles and Burton Bike Bits - both closed today - so I'll ring them on Monday for a new part.
many thanks in advance....
