With the small kit I have, welding anything but the smallest parts is difficult. Brazing has been mostly suuceesful but, if you need to braze heavy parts, you are going to go through a lot of gas. The small bottles  bought in the hardware store go fast, especially oxygen. It can get expensive.

And the solution is a Dillion gun.
I think that they are now called Henrob.
4psi on the oxygen & 3 psi on the Acetylene .
Very hot very short flame even welds stainless .
They take a bit of getting used to but after you do there is no going back.
Standard kit comes with an air / acetylene torch which is hot enough to braze with.

hi guys, mapp gas is good for solder/small braze/silver solder/silfos on small diameter copper pipes and the like, but nothing beats oxy/acet for all jobs. Oxy/LPG is a good substitute and will tackle most brazing/cutting/welding applications,(my opinion) give it a go,cheers
