RGS Conversion part 2 ( new thread )
« on: 29.10. 2012 17:01 »
Well first of all thanks to all the replies to my last thread on this subject.
For those who never read this.
I have a 1954 Swinging arm Flash.
I have bought a new standard A10 seat from Wassell ( very nice )
Bought a chrome Gold Star mudguard from Burtons ( very nice as well )
It was quiet obvious that the arrow head stays dont fit so I bought some new G/S stays, so far so good. The new stays have a hole for the shocker bolt and two smaller ones. The shocker hole fits very nice and all lines up with the seat and mudguard. all looks very neat and as it should be. EXCEPT The other two holes on the stay line up with nothing and sit out of sight behind the Hagon's in open space. In short there is no strength in the stay as it is being held on by one bolt. The Burton seat bridge is where it should be and lines up with the pre drilled holes in the M/Guard. Again this bridge is nowhere near the stay. Where do I gain the strength from, what have I missed.
Thank you in anticipation.

Thanks for that, I have those brackets as shown. However my stays are about 2-3" nearer the front of bike, well past these brackets. Have I got the wrong stays ? or are there special brackets for this conversion. ?

Ah now then . my mate had this issue there are different lengths of these stays in his case IIRC the first one he bought were too short.
Talk to someone like Draganfly and they will more than likely put you right, other suppliers are available of course - where did you get yours from they may exchange them

Thanks again chaps
