am a little unclear quite what you're alluding to, typically cam "lift" and "dwell" is measured rather than lobe size.
For example the drag racing 358 is typically quite a small lobe cam as it has such a smaller base circle, so still has greater lift than a 357 which usually having a greater base circle needs far bigger lobes to attain lesser lift.
I would be looking for evidence of wear on the lobes and for road use both are nice cams.
