Starting issue
« on: 03.02. 2013 15:16 »
Hi
My 1954 A10 has only done 1 mile since rebuild, was starting first kick and rode like a dream. Fitted a new clutch since which is perfect. now will not start ? I have a good spark and running a 626 Concentric. The plugs seem dry ? Cleaned carb out twice. Today my son helped me push start it and it fired up straight away, ran well for about 100 yards then seemed to have fuel starvation and was popping a bit. I do have a wet sump issue which will be addressed, but I drained it first. The petrol is high octane and new. HELP

As a start I'd check enough fuel is getting to the carb, take the pipe/s off the carb and watch how much fuel comes down them
All the best - Bill

Thanks for the reply. I have just been reading about the idle circuit and venturi. This is all new to me as I am a novice that is willing to learn. Would the main jet not take over if this was blocked or have I found a blockage that would cause this problem ?
