Painter for tank badges
« on: 27.11. 2012 20:33 »
Hi,  I am in the process of getting my two tank badges rechromed, for my 53 Golden Flash Plunger, however, I cannot find a painter/sprayer in Spain. Does anybody know  a good reliable coy/person I could send them to back in England and where do I find the colour codes etc to ensure they are done correctly.

Many thanks

Hi Guys,

thanks for all the info, I have looked at the badges on E bay and they are unfortunatly the aftermarket cheap ones. (I have a set I also rushed in and bought!!). I could be right or wrong but if you get an original set, which I now have, they are heavier, made of better steel. They also have the words Golden Flash written above and below the lightening bolt and if you look closer the wings on the letter B are bigger and bolder.

Gary many thanks I will e mail u this evening ref the painting

Ps: I have another righ side original badge up for sale, they are a bit difficult to find as a pair.

LOL !!
To clarify ..Gary (painter) visited Me on Wednesday to examine My badges with a view to coach enameling them for Me .
I was about to search the site for a picture to print out & We saw Your post asking for the same service !
Gary posted for the forum from My computer .

I will ask Him to photograph the finished article & hopefully post this to the forum as I am unsure how to go about this .
He promised to have them back to Me early next week then that is the "Flash" finished !

I have never used Garys services previously but He comes highly reccomended & has a background signwriting canal barges , etc .
He also gave Me a quote for pinstriping fuel tanks when next I need one doing .

thanks Steve that would be great ,

Just as a matter of interest was the pinstriping quote a good one?  its also something else I will need doing in the future.

What year is your bike?

Did u do its electrics?

Its the only thing I am not looking forward to, I have a new wiring harness and I am intending to change it across to a 12 volt neg earth system and of course must also figure the dynamo out. all good fun I bet!!!!

cheers, Nige K

The quote for the pinlining was £40-£50. unfortunately I had already had it done before I found His number .
my "Flash" is a late 1955 ...56 model S/A .

I bought a harness from "Lyford Classics" which was very simple to fit .

Best of luck with the conversion !
