1960 prices

I have just been given some mag's called Motor Cycling with Scooter Weekly dated 1960. There are some good articles but what caught my eye was...'Comerfords Ltd' 1954 Gold Star £138 cash or a 1959 500cc Clubman  £278 or a brand new double sidecar £74. If you want to know what your bike was worth then please ask, I will look it up.

in 1961 I paid 175 for a 1960 Gold Flash - was I ripped off?
Actually I don't think so as the previous owner was well known for looking after his bikes, Bought it from Darling and Swinney of Scremerston near Berwick upon Tweed

I found a 1960 Gold Flash in the November 1960 Edition £198, sounds about right. Stadium Googles 21 shillings that week and full Dolphin Faring £16.
