Dissapointing results for the chaps there........... Fires, clutch back plate screws falling out, breakdowns galore, insecure undergarments and a bout of chronic, and incapacitating constipation thrown in for good measure!

But
they made it
to the legendary salt, raced (more or less), and came back in one piece. I enjoyed watching it, showing all the hard work, planning, struggle and problems (+ sadness & joy), good series, BBC knows how to make things.

Indeed they did, and hats of to them for that!......... I really enjoyed watching too, (apart from seeing Chris Ireland in his underpants
). I felt a bit sorry for them though, I hoped at least some of them might have had better luck. It even saw fit to rain on them the day they arrived. In the desert!..... Better luck next time fella's

Hi All,
Pity that they missed out on a team from the Isle of Man who actually smashed a long standing record

203mph on a streamlined 500cc (without using the nitrous!!!!!)

Blimey!.....It didn't sound very healthy untill it hit 8,000 rpm but after that it certainly picked its feet up!
Right then, there is more than enough brains on here for a crack at the 500 or 650 class, and a few that can ride quick too. Only a lack of will can stop us!

A7 & A10 at Bonneville, anyone knows of more? (not necessarily making the headlines, just attending & racing)

A few here, these are current records!.......B.S.A. still setting the pace? Representatives in the 125, 250, lots in 350, 500, and 750 classes. I'm sure the lads on this forum could get an A7 above 104mph?
http://www.scta-bni.org/Bonneville/BNI_records.htm
Failing to get an A7 to 104 plus, we could do it really cheaply and push a 125 Bantam to 31mph?

Let's go for the 3000 cm3 class, using 6 x A7 engines (3 in parallel x2) ending up with something similar looking to this
http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-rDNwgDlI6wE/ToAVrLhG5CI/AAAAAAAADc4/GJAmo3Yg-Uw/s1600/suzuki-ack-attack_engine2_lg.jpeg
, which from reading the results did 328 mph.
Maybe MG & Julian will team up and do it

Nice work. Am wondering how long (how many seconds :O) the gearbox will last when handling a full throttle !

I think it would cope easily. Remember, when they left the factory plenty of them were fitted with sidecars, including monsters like the Watsonian double adult. Imagine........four adults and the weight of the sidecar!
A pal of mine has a Beezer that his Dad bought brand new. They went on holiday in the sidecar (double adult) when he was six months old.
It was not just round the corner either, they went to Cornwall, all five of them. Even with dreadfull abuse they just seem to carry on. Mine has not been apart for at least 34 years, although there is play in the clutch arm these days. I hold them in the highest regard, and a tougher box of cogs for a motorcycle has never been built in my opinion.
Now we all know what's going to happen to me this year eh?
