Wanted - Rigid A7 Longstroke Lifting Handle
« on: 19.01. 2013 09:59 »
Hi Guys, does anybody have a lifting handle for a long stroke rigid A7 part number 67-6765. This is the one that attaches to the drive side seat spring mount and the left side of the mudguard below the pillion seat as shown in the picture.

Did you ever get sorted with one of these? I'm looking for one at the moment. It's a pig to get on the stand without it.

I reckon heating and bending some tube to make one would not be too tricky. If you are worried about the tube buckling when you bend it, fill and ram the tube with fine dry sand that can be shaken out afterwards. I once helped a friend bend some bike frame tubing for a kneeler project and the sand idea worked well. As it was next to us we used sand from the workshop fire buckets.

Yes, I did find one. I bought a 1948 A7 project and spares not long after that posting and it had a a spare lifting handle with it. Not seen one for sale since. They are  but as Greybeard says should not be to difficult to bend one. The tubing is larger than that used on the singles but as I no longer have one of these bikes I cannot measure it for you. Here is a picture of mine when I had it.
