Correct Jet sizes amal 376/35 ?
« on: 26.02. 2013 23:56 »
Hi fella's. I've got a amal 376/35 carb fitted to my a 7, the jet sizes that are fitted are.....
Needle jet = 105
Main jet = 170
Pilot jet = 25
As far as I can gather, the pilot jet sounds right ? But the needle and main jets seem a bit small ?.
I did stumble on a website a while ago that listed all the standard jet sizes but can't find it now.
So does anybody know what the correct size jets are supposed to be fitted. Cheers in advance fella's.
All the best Chicago.

Are you sure that you have the number right, because according to the Amal reference book there isn't a 376/35 fitted to the A7.
376/35 was fitted to the Triumph Trophy.
The 15/16 carbs are 376/4, 376/83, 376/212,376/238.

Hi goldy, cheers for the replie, yep 376/35, its the wrong carb fitted. I think they fitted them to triumph tr5 & t100 as well. It does ride ok with this carb fitted, and I've now got it to start ok but quite rich and lumpy tick over, I might be better getting the right carb for the the bike.

Hi there Morris, cheers fella, that was the the site, I also had a look at the port induction site and quite a few symptoms seem to match my bike. The thing I picked up on on that site was it said if you have a rubber o ring fitted to the carb/ manifold port you shouldn't use a gasket?. I've got o ring fitted and gasket as well.
