1952 Flash auto advance springs

Hi
Just got back from a long weekend on the Flash & opened the timing cover to find one of the auto advance springs broken??

Cant figure out how this could have happened. Any ideas where one can pick up these springs or any equivalent?

G'day Anji, I'm sure one of the members will help out. They will probably suggest replacing both as a pair, I would.
Lucky it didn't get stuck in the workings and hold it at full advance. Would make starting interesting.

I have seen these on "ebay" occasionally ?
I am pretty sure these could be sourced in the U.K ..probably "Lightning Spares" , "Draganfly" etc ?
Let Me know if You struggle & I wil try to get a pair .

I have had spares from this outfit previously & they seem very good .

Springs can brake (after 50+ years nothing special). Change both, and buy from a magneto specialist > get the best possible springs \ correct tension to be sure the advance\retard works properly.

Anji find a mag specilist they will be able to help but do not cut cost get the best as some springs are poorly made and do not give correct tension John
