When I come back to this forum, click on 'Show unread posts..' and there aren't any I get a slight depression. . Is that sad or what?

Yeah this is by far the most active of the forums that I visit regularly. The Bantam site gets a few updates every day, I'm on a Stateside one for my early Evo Sportster and not a huge amount goes on there, and I seem to be the predominant poster on the Kawasaki triples forum - leads me to think there that either:

. Everybody hates me
. Nobody is doing stuff with their bikes
. They all know what they are doing and I'm the only one without a clue
. I'm on the wrong site

About the activity here, it's grown far above all possible goals, hopes & expectations, and that's good. Good for me after all the work with the forum, and good for all the readers\members who find help and inspiration.

With forum sites, activity breeds activity and inactivity breeds inactivity so they tend to be polarised between the very active and the almost stagnant. I'm also on the Velocette LE forum and that stays quite busy considering there don't seem to be that many Velo flat twins on the roads.
