Rear QD Wheel hub ?
« on: 25.05. 2013 15:23 »
I am taking my wheel apart ready for a rebuild it is a quick release type on an A10. I cannot see how to get the round plate off the non drive side. Has any one got a breakdown of this type of hub please. The plate is some sort of trim that hides the spoke seats in this crinkle hub nearest the spacer.

Thanks Colin

Colin, Draganfly has a dis-assembled blow up of the entire rear QD wheel and axle set up, showing everything you need to know.   I am new to "puters" and do not know how to send a link from some where else in the web to you , or I would do that.

It 'll take some time to download, but worth keeping somewhere on your pc

If you are talkmg about the naive plate ( pretty cover plate ) it just "pops off.
The rolled lip is slightly smaller than 90 deg so when it is tapped on with a rubber mallet it stretches over the hub.
If you are not replacing the wheel bearing then tap the edges using a bit of hardwood as a drift.
If you are replacing he wheel berings they drive out with the wheel bearing.
