Timing cover screws

After taking great care to lay the screws out in the correct sequence, I have managed to get them mixed up. There are as you all know three different lengths. Which screws go where?

off the top of my head
3 short go around the dynamo
Long ones (4) I think go around the bottom of the case two each side?

Easy way to confirm is with something like a cotton bud or small blunt screwdriver, shove in the hole and put your thumb nail along it till you touch the case, will give you an idea of length needed, also softly dig about with the screwdriver to see if there's any muck in the blind holes, you can easily crack out the crankcase tightening a screw against muck in the hole

Next time get some thin cardboard akin to a cereal box and push the screws through it roughly simulating the original positions.

Beezageezauk, Yes you are absolutely right, and normally that is what I would do. Never mind a lesson learned. I had not intended to remove the cover there and then,but got carried away by the moment. I hang my head in shame.
