Oil pressure release valve

What size socket do you need to undo the original 'flat' type oil pressure release valve on the Super Rocket engine, the large one next to the crankcase?

Are the later domed type a direct replacement, as the hex head is a lot smaller?

Thanks.

Have you now fitted one of the later domed types? If so is it a direct replacement?

I have fitted a domed PRV sourced from SRM, and yes it was a direct replacement.

Thanks John

One other question you may be able to help with?

It us my understanding that the original BSA one operated  at 60psi but the later domed ones work at 75psi, is that correct and does it have any significant impact?

Puts more load on the pump and drive, but perhpas more significantly the higher peak pressure may lead to more oil leakage and seepage through the cases due to porosity. At least that seemed to happen to mine with SRM valve. Their regulator valve came with 2 plain washers increasing the spring preload. Removing these returned the regulated pressure to close to the original pressure. BTW this was OK'd by SRM.
