Emblem on front mudguard.
« on: 12.09. 2013 05:53 »
Bought a bike with a small zinc casting on the front mudguard.
A bearded guy straddling a beer barrel with a tankard of beer in his right hand.
On the front of the barrel : xxxx
Below that : A.O.F.B.
The back of the barrel reads : NO HEEL TAPS !
Around the edge : Birmingham Medal co.
Summerhill Terrace.

What does AOFB stand for ?
& what is the meaning of : No Heel Taps ???

Thanks , Flatboy.

It could be worth an awful lot of money. Motoring mascots are highly collectable, as is "breweryana". Did a quick search of auction results, only found one, it went unsold but estimate was £300-£400. I'm sure there will be frothblower collectors out there too.
Get casting!
