I see on Dutch's 'kneeslider' site a writeup about E.J. Potter 'The Michigan Madman'.
apparently he died of old age - I'm surprised he lasted that long.
I saw him at the Surfers Paradise drags years ago.
Now he was one wild boy.
He had a V8 in a drag bike and he rocked it off a stand to get going - full bore.
There was smoke every where and it went sideways across the track before it straightened up.
He had the throttle wide open all the way. I've no idea how he stayed on it.
There was a story he got his tyres from firestone for free as they had some sort of unconditional guarantee.
He'd be lucky to get a quarter mile out of his back one.
