Hello from me and my silent partner (my Dad)
« on: 29.10. 2013 08:24 »
Hi there
My first post on here, so i thought |I should introduce myself. My dad is about to start his very belated restoration of his plunger A10. He's been meaning to do it for years, but other stuff has normally gotten in the way. Mainly my bikes. My interest is 1970's 2 stroke motocross bikes. I can hear you all sucking air through your teeth at that one  *smile* *doh*
I rae  in the pre 73 class, but have been thinking of trying out the classic class for a while. And being as i have access to the old mans spares I may give it a go. I will post that up some where else though.
So anyway hello

G'day chamber66  *welcome*.
You and dad will get lots of help and support from the forum.
 I love my '51 A7 plunger.
2 stroke motocrossers, dirty, smelly, noisy things. Love them too. Had a '69 Montesa GPMX 360 when I was only about 12 and a brand new YZ 80 D to race in juniors. Cost $275 with a free helmet.
Cheers

Welcome chamber66.

Although this forum is all about A model BSA's most of us own or have owned other bikes so dont be afraid to mention anything as long as it has two wheels !

I grew up on 2 strokes and only recently bought a 1971 CZ380cc which I gave to my son-in-law. I also have a waterbottle in the shed, and I dont mean the type to keep your feet warm at night.

Hopefully between us we can help with any question you or your dad might have about his A10.

Thanks for the welcome. Nearly bought a CZ, but opted for a YAM 360 to compete on instead. My other bikes are a modern YZ250, a 1979KTM and an Rd350YPVS. So comming back (possibly) to a big 4 stroke twin is quite terryfing/exciting  *eek*

I raced one of those 380cc CZ's back in the early seventies Musky, it wasnt a bad bike. But you have to take into account the year before I was on a suzuki TM400 Cyclone. I even got to meet "the man" Roger De Coster back then, oh to be young again.
