I'm working on my A7 project frame...
(Purists will cringe, but prepping it for a rigid hardtail conversion)

I have a small tang that sticks out just above the mounting hole for the rear brake lever.
Is this for return spring? or brake light switch? or none of the above?
I've never had an A7 together, so I'm not sure if it can be eliminated.

Thanks in advance!

What year is the frame? there are variations between pre 56 and later swingarm frames in the brake levers and fittings.
I seriously considered converting a swing arm frame to a hard tail for my race bike but instead built a fresh replica frame using the drawings of a BB32R.
In my opinion this was a better option, wasnt destroying an existing frame and was all fresh metal.

I think you are referring to the tab that the pedal travel bolt bears against?

That is it!!! I knew it served some braking purpose. LOL
Thanks. ( Better leave that tab alone. )

My frame is a '54, by the way.

I was thinking the same thing. Insight into Richard's excellent work by just looking at little things like the lock wire and sliding plate details.

nice and clear and oh so clean Richard   *respect*. Reminded me of my  '54 s/w A10 i had years ago ,the only one that I could get the brake pedal flat without resorting to fixing something under the footrest , so that was why, the adjuster bolt, thanks for freeing up another 4 brain cells  ,I badly need 'em for other projects
