Is it me or does that price look a little low?

I'd be a bit skeptical. I'd be ringing and asking for #'s to check and not paying anything till it checked out.
There's a lot of scams out there.

May simply be carandclassic.co.uk who got the price totally wrong, or it's a scam having ripped of all content form this (seemingly) legit ad > http://www.2040motos.com/BSA/super-rocket/1960-bsa-super-rocket-14542/
btw, about the real ad, 5100 usd, a good price, ain't it?

edit: found the ebay listing, http://www.ebay.com/itm/1960-BSA-Super-Rocket-/271267341388?forcerrptr=true&item=271267341388 final bid $6,999

Anyone got some time to spend, contact the seller using carandclassic 'Contact Advertiser via Email' and see if maybe some interesting story comes up (don't use your normal\personal email address and reveal no personal info).

If a scam, usual scheme is something like this:

I lost both my legs, both eyes, one ear, 11 fingers and my wits in the Iraq war, and am selling at very low price to someone who will give it a good home and care for it etc etc etc

Am currently living in Congo, but the bike is in USA in the care of a transport company who will arrange for shipping and payment using escrow. They will contact you and arrange for payment to their agent in Italy, fastest way of securing the sale is by using Western Union etc etc

This is very safe, and you can inspect the bike after arrival, and if not satisfied you can choose to return it and get all the money back etc etc etc

Funny thing (or rather sad) many believe such fairytales and think they get the bargain of a lifetime. It's big business\minimal risk for criminals, no need for guns, explosives or violence, just sit comfortably in a chair and get the smiling, happy victim to hand over all the money.

Yep the latest spam I'm getting is "Problem with your amazon order # FGR475893D" dozens of them, just in time for Christmas.
Yesterday I tried an anti spam programm but it did peculiar things to my mail like emptying my inbox into trash folder so out it went

Mail containing some pdf\doc in zip\exe format?

Moving topic to chat & offtopic until it's clear if the ad is legit or not.

Yes , can't recall what the attachment was in the form of, some forums think it was a virus more likely just phishing.

The suspiciously low priced carandclassic ad for a 1960 Super Rocket posted on 13/12/13 has been removed - reason not clear.

In the original UK ad there was a phone number I searched that phone number and also found this ad.

No idea if its legit just passing it along for conversation.

Now it's called a Rocket III, & price is still absurd. Someone in US want to do a test and call that number?

Unfortunately this is the latest of a long list of classic and modern bike scams where the intention is by any clever or blunt way possible to get the perspective new owner to part with money up front. Money then disappeears and the rest as they say is history...

If its seems to good to be true then...it probably is.

Sent a report about the so-called Rocket III, let's see if the website owners investigate the ad.
