update on UK mot regs re classic bikes.
« on: 10.02. 2014 13:52 »
Anyone else just rec'd a road tax reminder . Just had mine  from DVLA .Last year no vehicle requirement for an MOT so didn't bother ,just got her checked over , great . True to form this years is the opposite , " vehicle requires MOT " if DVLA can ignore or misinterupt regulations , they'll find a way .Going to ring them later to see why ,that should be interesting and will update after I've spoken to 'em, BobH.

Hi Bob,

I reckon that part is on all the reminder forms and DVLA simply hasn't got round to deleting it from those that are exempt.

I received one of those reminders the middle of last year and managed to get a tax disc without the bike having an mot test cert.

Let us know what DVLA say about yours?

Bang on the money ,Beezageeza.  I'd input aa old ref number  and once found the correct one job done !  Seems strange that you have to put that you hold a current mot  and that the system then confirms that you have one ? but anyway all sorted, and DVLA not at fault ,regards BobH.
