« on: 24.03. 2014 19:47 »
took the flash out for the first time yesterday oh hek a problem with it already starts no trouble tick's over no probs but when you come to ride it now then seems to kangroo its not to bad up to a quarter throttle but from then on it gets real bad then the more you open the throttle it starts to cut out it does help a bit if you pull the choke on a bit ok sounds like fuel starvation took the carb off cleaned out the silt all the jets were clear had a look at the plugs sooty (champion l82c) if they are correct ? one other thing i have thought of is advance/retard sticking any help would be great thanx.

Hi Derek
if you suspect fuel starvation but carb seems ok try running with both taps open to eliminate problems of flow from the tank
All the best - Bill

G'day Derek. Did you take note of the jet sizes and carb type? Is it auto or manual advance? Non advancing ignition won't help but it wouldn't cause it to skippy. If the mag is breaking down under load it will.

Just remember it's a BSA, it likes to mark it's spot. I was so proud getting the '51 leak free. 150 miles later the g/box seal's weeping. *problem*
