help/is there a trick to undoing and doing up shock absorber nut  *conf*

G'day Ted.
I assume your talking about the cush nut on the end of the crank, primary side.
It should be bl@@dy tight. With the bike in gear and the rear brake jammed on, a C spanner and a good belt with a hammer should get it moving. If money & time permits the SRM nut is a great replacement.

Rob Nortier from British Tool Company does an excellent line of special BSA tools including a couple of cush drive spanners.
He has a web site at www.britishtool.com but he has some weirdo coding in it so it is not accessible to mac users.

 That tool on ebay is much like the one I made, but I made it shorter andadded a bit of a sleeve to hold it in place...
