setting timing on 1954 GF

I got my reconditioned magneto back yesterday and spent the whole afternoon setting the timing.  I thought it was good this morning it was hard to start.  I pulled it apart and found that AAU had turned a little as I was tightening it up, took it off and put a little valve grinding paste on the inside of the AAu and then tightened it up.
This must have solved the problem it starts first kick now. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Always recheck the timing after tightening the nut.

Ha, I remember one poor bugga doing it at least 6 times. Wonder who that was.
