G'day Fred.
Some people love'em some people don't, I wouldn't use one myself. Removing it will increase flow to the pump and may help it pump easier. High oil pressure is controlled by the OPRV, low oil pressure is caused by a weak/broken OPRV spring or worn pump/main bush/big end shells. If low pressure is suspected the OPRV is the 1st place I look, then off with the cover and check the pump retaining nuts are tight.
Without any means of measuring the oil pressure, how do you know it's low?
Cheers

I just punched out the ball and spring on mine and kept the body as an adaptor - saves £23!

Hallo,

Thank You all, for Your replies.

I will try to punch the ball and spring out of the valve.

Will I need any kind of liquid gasket or plumber tape when I assemble the parts?

muskrat - I do not have any suspicion that the oil pressure is too low, it is only to be on the safe side.  *smiley4*
