An incident
« on: 15.06. 2014 17:26 »
There was an awkward moment while riding my GF today. I was approaching a roundabout and slowing down to about 20 MPH but hoping not to actually have to come to a standstill. There was long grass on the side traffic would approach from so I didn't see that a BMW was about to cross my path until it was close. I put the A10 brakes on as hard as I could but I had fallen into my habit, learned on modern motorbikes and bicycles of only putting two fingers on the brake lever so was limited on the amount of power I could apply to the lever! I came to a standstill about three feet past the stop line! Luckily the driver of the BMW, presumably seeing me still moving out slowed down and avoided running in to me. I felt like a prat. Note to self: A10 front brakes need all four fingers on the lever!

Better to feel like a prat than feel a BMW. ;)

Happy that it went well, and a good reminder.
