My latest project (a 1952 plunger A10) is finally underway. I have 5 old bikes and having either not had the time or money they have rotted in the garage for years until a couple of years back. This is my 3rd project and I have one of those inane questions that will highlight what an idiot I was when young.

In its former life I decided to "chop" the plunger A10 and promptly sawed the footrest brackets off to fit forward footrests. Having finally grown up (well sort of) I want to fit proper footrests to this frame. Would anybody have the details of those two bars that stick out including the size of the taper so that I can machine a couple and weld them back on? I do remember that one of them is a left hand thread. The left hand one I assume

Now I know thats a frame question so I will include an engine question so as not to fall foul of our mods :)

I have rebuilt the engine and upgraded to thick flange barrels and a large journal crank. I want to fit an alloy head to this probably with a 930 concentric but I seem to remember that this fouls the frame on the plunger model. Has anybody got an alloy head and a 930 on a plunger A10 and did it fit properly without the carb hitting the frame tube?

Thank you in advance for any replies

*smile* good one mate, both  *????* are in the wrong spot *pull hair out*
I'll have a look at my spare frame tonight.
Carb WILL foul the frame. I'm sure I remember a member cutting the manifold and rewelding to a flatter angle.
Cheers

OK I'll move it to frame and tackle that one first.

I dragged the old slightly bent '51 down off the shelf. I might actually straighten it this time.
Hope the pics help.
