« on: 31.07. 2014 11:21 »
Hi, Has any one experienced their rear wheel hub spindle coming undone after a long ride? Twice I've experienced this on my 1955 A7SS, I've tried using Loctite thread compound, but its not the answer. Any solutions Guy's

Hi Terry, only time mine loosened was when a nut from the 4 on the sprocket side loosened off and hit the s/arm until I stopped , everything by then was loose. Are we talking full width hub or singlesided ? also is the spindle loose through the swinging arm ? only thing I can think off . Regards curing could you find a bloody big spring washer ? best of luck BobH

Hi Bob, Its a half width brake hub and its the spindle through the SA. A spring washer, yes that's thought.

The other thing I was think, was that the spacer between the SA fork and the hub, is difficult to get in and out due to its length. Does anybody know how long this should be. I'm thinking that if my spacer is too long, then its quite possible that the spindle is not engaging enough.
