This does not belong here.

I went to check oil flow and saw this in the tank. It obviously slipped off my seat and into the open tank during one of the last half-dozen timings before I finally got it where I wanted it. We all know what this is, so let's say it together on three: One, two, three - THE WOOD WEDGE TO JAM THE ATD DURING TIMING! But, hey, I'm sure my new oil filter would have caught it.

Right. Only needs to make its way through two mesh filters, two external lines, the oil pump, check ball, PRV and crankshaft. No problem. Good laughs, but I'm still a little embarrased by the bad housekeeping. I'll have to check that nothing else went in there that doesn't float.

Now thats a novel way to check your oil level,  *pull hair out*
*bright idea* on the bright side, you should paintent it as a genuine BSA oil level float  ..    *whistle*

Thanks for the tip Richard. I've lost my glasses, a large screwdriver and a 3/4'' ww spanner. Think I know where to look for them now... ;)

I've wound everyone up around here still looking for my favourite pair of gloves I lost about 18 months ago. Got me thinking on that one too.
