Yesterday we had a great fun day out without alas a single BSA in sight ( wash my mouth out ) at the Southport airshow. Fantastic display kicked off with a chance to sit in a spitfire ,there parked on the prom ! and the queue wasn't that big reasonable contribution to RAFB fund required , (luckily My Son was with us so if they had demanded my first born it could have been done

) , kicked off with the raf red arrows ,boy can they fly, my grandsons were speechless and i was just sitting in the cockpit has they flew by to give me a great picture (thank you Rob ; you're back in the will for that ) later the Battle of Britain flight along with there Canadian cousin 2 lancs + spit + hurricane = 10 merlins = a wonderful sound plus agreat display = a lot of very happy people ,quite afew with tears in there eyes. My boys and I saw and heard something they won't experience again ,fanatastic ,glorious Every one was waving like mad as they flew home!! This was followed by the New typhoon fighter ,what a difference ,what a noise and brings a whole new dimension to "opening the tap " finished off with a canberra and a hunter and closed by the mighty Avro Vulcan another great sight and sound could see her 5miles away awaiting clearance and then she ran in ..low and at full throttle ,out of this world , We'd had a wonderful time oh and did I mention I sat in a SPITFIRE , sorry to shout , bobH
