Fork stanchion diameter
« on: 13.11. 2014 16:05 »
Hello can anyone tell me the diameter of the top of the fork stanchion, the part between the top and bottom yoke on a  Gold Star.  I would think that it was standard thought the A/B  range.   I'm looking for some Clip Ons and the seller says that they fit a Gold Star.
Thank You

Hi Pete,

I've just measured the top of an old pair of stanchions from an A10 and my vernier reads 34mm.

Hope this helps.

Beezageezauk.

In old money that would be 1 11/32"?   Sounds right as the springs are listed as having a 36mm ID

Hi,
"Normal" BSA stanchions are tapered between the yokes and are really unsuitable for clip ons
"Proper " GS ones are parallell
be warned

Hello and thank you to those who replied to my Post re the Fork  Stanchion Dia.  I apologise for not replying sooner but I got diverted on other tasks and the bike took a back seat.

Merry Christmas to you all and thanks once again.
Regards
Pete
