Noise from exhaust
« on: 01.12. 2014 17:41 »
My A7 is running fine but I can hear a noise from the exhaust which maybe ok but I would like your opinon. I was going to remove the head and have a look but though I'd ask first. The noise sounds like valve clatter. The engine had only just been started so it's condensation coming out of the exhausts.

G'day kbret.
So you hear it right from cold start up, does it get worse or better when hot? The left pipe is a little darker than the right, what do the plugs look like? Check the tappets gain and look for a broken spring (alloy heads are noisy). Drop the pipe off and have a look up the ex port. Is there moisture where the guide exits the head?
Cheers
