It being that time of the year, here in the UK, I pulled the old bitza from the back of the carport last night – where it has sat under covers since around November. Refitted the recently powder coated c/stand, had a quick look around and wiped it all over with an oily rag (I know how to show a girl a good time). Then flooded up and started kicking. Took a few but soon we had life. And an oil return (and no wet sumping either). After which I nipped out for a quick run in the cold and the dark – so nice not to be worrying with MOT and VED these days. It’s only an iron head with flat top pistons but what a great ride. After more recent running of Sunbeam and Nimbus which do have their charms, this feels like a proper sporting gentleman’s steed. Roll on summer.
