Hi this has probable been ask before but which side do you take the gear box out with the engine still in place the reason is replacement box purchased as old box has no key way recond cheaper than buying a new main shaft and doing it myself. *????*

Remove the primary cover and clutch then take gearbox out from right hand side. Once the clutch is removed you will find it helpful to remove the inner chaincase as well so that access to the gearbox plates can be gained from both sides.
