I'd be a bit cautious with this one, probably a good Frame but as for any RGS connection all though nothing is claimed there's some worries.

I'm unsure of the exact details as it was my fathers and I'm not one for bikes.
- where is the rest of it, log book?, if it was my dad's I'm pretty sure he would have told me all about it.

I can't see any numbers on the frame
well that could well be because they've been ground off if that's what the rusty bit is (is that not the wrong side tho?
and (me not being a RGS expert) I'd assume the rear mudguard stay brackets shown where for earlier bikes
Could be perfectly reasonable answers to all these points of course and he's not claiming anything, but I'd wager someone will see the cast lugs and push up the bidding.
Am I getting to be an old bitter doubter of all things I wonder

Well, you are not wrong about that! There is a feeding frenzy going on (11 bids) and still 7 days to go. Mind you it could be the real thing, apart from the cast front engine lugs the reinforcing plate on the head stock looks correct too. And there is no provision for a steering lock.

oh agreed, just strange not to state it, maybe has no idea what an RGS is, or maybe just doesn't want to get embroiled in a is/isn't discussion.
The no numbers  thing - I was forgetting it could be a replacement frame and I shouldn't; my first Flash was Tboned (by another bike) and the new frame was never stamped

Hi All,
I can see several feature that excludes it from the "RGS" club
I can see that the area where the frame number should be on the LHS of the gusset has neen scraped of paint as well,
Unless its a completeyl faked 4 lug  frame and if there are no numbers visible and no grinding marks, then I would think that its a late model A10 replacement frame
If I remember correctly some very late A10's and some export Police models featured the 4 lugged frame

It will probably wind up being built into a clone by someoney who will rob an original RGS bikes ID *sad2*

I would say not RGS but a fairly good conversion.
The frame has pump brackets which a genuine frame shouldn't.
Earlier bottom yoke & battery tray but they alone don't mean much.
The frame tube below the battery tray seems to be in the cross-over frame position.

Trev,

Just testing myself to see if I've learnes anything. Didn't true RGSs use a rod-pull rear brake but still used hollow spindle? This frame has the pedal spindle hole where it should be for rod pull. When you mention the pump brackets, you mean they don't belong on an RGS, right?

A few other details: cat owner; PlayStation 4 owner; appears to have an outdoor TV or brought frame in house for some photos - possibly single. *smile*

THE RGS uses a solid smaller diamater swingarm spindle, the Ebay frame has large holes for a hollow one
The RGS brake pedal pivot is below and behind the  swing arm spindle where the rearset/pillion loops meet the main frame
Rod brake to a QD wheel, the brake drum and drive sprocket  are one piece,
(Later A65 and B44's and so on use a bolt on sprocket with a QD wheel)

Cheers

as I started the RGS aspect of this perhaps to be fair and even handed I should restate the guy is not claiming it is anything more than an A10 frame.

John,

I wasn't sure about the size of the spindle holes, but I am pretty sure this frame has the pedal pivot boss. I had to add the pedal pivot to my frame, having naively bought a post '55, non-rod-pull-brake, frame to work with my 8" half-width drum/chain wheel. Ahh, those were the days, when my errors could just be attributed to naiveté.

That's right, Richard, the RGS frame shouldn't have pump brackets.
