Motorcycle Dolly
« on: 03.08. 2015 17:48 »
Does anyone have any experience of using a 'dolly' to move bikes around the garage or workshop? I have seen one called Park-n-Move that looks interesting but doesn't seem to be available in the UK. I have two bikes and one would be a god-send!

No sorry but having a 'Dolly' in my shed would be very useful to me also  ;)

Sounds like a good idea.  I use an engine crane, only because I have one left over from supporting two sons and their cars.  It's a great help but needs a bit of space.
The 'dolly' sounds like an excellent excuse to possibly, if you haven't already, learn to weld - a nice little project.  Who knows, you might even go into production!
Other construction methods are available.

Bugga. I thought it was about the bloke on the IOM with a blow up on the back of his postie bike.
I'v often thought of building one of these http://www.ebay.com/itm/PARK-N-MOVE-Motorcycle-Dolly-Utility-Cart-Storage-KickStand-Track-Wheels-Roll-/301665720751  as I have 4 bikes in a one car garage.
Or get one of these to do the job for you.

Can buy this in Sweden: http://www.biltema.se/sv/Bil---MC/MC/Verkstadsutrustning/Motorcykeldolly-2000033107/
Quite cheap, like £80.

If anyone is really really interested I could check the freight cost.

I've got one from Radum in Melbourne, on page 33   cost less than $100 a couple of years ago.

Pros...
You just ride onto it, put down the side stand, get off, turn it, then ride away... just like a turn table..

Cons...
Mine came with small steel wheels which made pushing hard..  ( changed them to rubber.)
after riding off of it & you return the side stand arm is on the wrong side, so you got to turn it again B4 riding on..
You need plenty of room in your shed for turning..

it came as a flat pack ..
