Norton problem with condenser
« on: 19.08. 2015 08:09 »
Hi to all,

They bring to me for fix the Nordon Commando 600cc. The bike before is 6v and somebody make it to 12v.I don't know why ( maybe for the lights ).When i but in my garage the bike has a problem with coil and i buy new one. Also i put and new one regulator/rectifire because they didn't have and i change the condenser also.  I took the bike for a ride and it's ok. The next day i try to make a ride again and i didn't understand. The same problem. The bike not working well. I disconnect the wire for charging battery and the bike working ok.I understand that the condenser is the problem . I replace for new one and it's ok. I took the bike again for a ride and the problem come again the next day.
If you connect the wire for charging battery the engine not working well. If you change the condenser with new one is ok.
My question is : the condenser is 6v or 12v ? How can i check this?

 Thanks

For your situation condensers are all the same (I know they are not actually all the same but in this situation they can be considered so). It doesn't matter whether your battery is 6v or 12v, you would use the same condenser because the condenser is dealing with the low tension side of the coil, not the battery.
