fork seal holder tool
« on: 17.09. 2015 12:50 »
I can't find the original post that I referenced to make a fork seal holder tool, but I made one from a piece of pipe purchased at Home Depot for under $10. Worked great. Got several sets of forks stripped down and it looks like I have enough good parts to put a set together with nothing needed but seals and fork boots. Thanks to whoever posted that!

No, the one I used gave dimensions but didn't have pictures. I think I like this one better than what I made. The nice long handle gives more leverage than my 5" bolts, but what the heck, it's working! Next I'll need to make a tool to draw the fork tubes up in the yokes. Don't have any spare top nuts, so I'll think about this one. Actually, I currently need 2, as I'm also refurbishing some Triumph forks, which have a different thread pitch.

One of my most used tools. http://www.lowbrowcustoms.com/fork-tube-puller-tool-for-triumph-bsa-norton-motorcycles.html
Or make one similar with an old fork nut.
Cheers

Very nice. As I have Triumph, BSA, and Norton all needing fork overhauls this makes a lot more sense than making 3 tools. Ordered one this morning. Thanks, Muskie.
