Yes - never give it much thought before but possibly not much work to put the brake on the wrong side, change the slider, turn the wheel or am I missing something apart from the brake needing to be born for that side

It is a double brake, an early A10 or Gold Star brake cut in half and matched with another, then doubled up. I've seen it somewhere before but can't remember where.
