Srm Clutch question

Just finished installing my SRM 4 spring setup on my 57 A10.  Feels pretty smooth and sweet when I pull the lever !
My question for anyone who has one of these is this ......Is there suppose to be some set screws that screw into the spring caps that would bottom out onto the four spring studs ? It didn't come with any and it says nothing about locking in the spring adjustment .   Maybe the spring pressure keeps anything from changing ? Any ideas are appreciated ! It seems to be a darn nice setup !

G'day Chad.
The nut is self locking. there is a raised bit on the underside that catches on the spring. I think they need to be screwed in a few more turns yet.

HI Chad,
muscat is right the spring nuts have a tang on the side that stops them undoing. You should screw them in equally so there is just over one coil of the spring showing then you will have a nice light clutch lever. They are really good.

Shame the clutch is not in full view, great piece of kit, ensure you get even lift by adjusting the spring nuts and checking the clutch outer plate runs true. Many of us strap a dial indicator to the frame and run the pointer on the clutch outer plate and set within a few thou.

 I believe original springs are left hand wound, some after-market ones are right hand wound which I reckon doesn't have the same effect,  am I wrong ?

Started building in about 1977/8 a on average '52 A10 -built from bits 'n pieces never resto intended -maybe 'personalised'
Have a '74 850T Moto Guzzi since '92-best thing I ever bought doesn't need a kickstart 'cos it bump starts sooooooooo(mostly) easy

all the pips/ dents/indents I've seen were not particularly directional if you know what I mean so springs wouldn't have a preference

In this photo, it appears that the spring winding direction allows for the dimple pressed into the nut to catch on the the tip of the spring if a nut was trying to wind off counterclockwise. That said, if the springs were wound in the opposite direction I suppose it would probably still prevent unwind if just trying to climb the coil, instead of contacting the tip. I see the spring cups are keyed to the holes but wonder if the bottoms of the cups are also dimpled.

There is a simple in the cups I have .   So in my mind it's ok to have a slight variation on spring adjustment as long as the pressure plate lifts as evenly as possible ?
