« on: 04.08. 2016 18:31 »
compression good - valve guide / stem tolerance correct - plugs champion I82c - no blue smoke from exhausts - carb jetting correct - float level correct
Have dropped needle to lowest position ( 1 ) and this must be about right since the response from choke operation confirms.Wire brush plugs and away it goes.Return after a run and plugs are sooted up again   -  what's going on !

Are you using lead replacement additive. There was an interesting article in this month's Star magazine by a guy who was finding oily deposits on his inlet valves and tracked this down to over-dosing with additive (Castrol).
Never tell people your troubles. Half of them are not interested and the other half are glad you're getting what's coming to you.

How does it run?

If it's rich at low speed, it probably has a worn out needle jet or maladjusted idle mixture screw.
