A10 Crank Case connecting Nut.
« on: 19.08. 2016 13:37 »
I've attached a picture the connecting nut and bolt for the engine plate just under the dynamo on my Road Rocket. Out of interest, why is the nut shaped so, when an ordinary nut would suffice? Also, should it be a bolt or a stud? Thanks. David.

Looking at the spare parts manual what you have there is: Bolt p/n 42-4470 and nut p/n 67-1292. The nut and bolt are shown as going into the top hole on the engine plate. Also needs a spring washer

As I see it, because of the dynamo tower and/or cover, you can't get a spanner on the nut if it's up against the mounting plate.
