Long mag bolt question
« on: 05.09. 2016 18:46 »
I've bought a new long bolt for the magneto, the one that shows at the points end; my original one is looking a bit sad with rust. I've loosened the bolt but I cannot remove it. I think the stud must have unscrewed with the bolt. Should I be able to change that bolt without removing the mag?

G'day GB.
If the stud is coming out with the long nut you will have to loosen the other nuts to (hopefully) get enough movement to extract it. Otherwise it's a magy out job.

I had an issue once where the collar at the threaded end of the long nut was to big in diameter and wouldn't get past the maggy. I had to undo the other nuts and pull the maggy back until I had enough room to take it out.
