Erling,

I've sent DT a PM requesting to receive the book. Very much looking forward to the read and finding the next recipient.

After more than 1 year, the book hit the road again on his way to USA.

Thanks for the news, and SA would be a nice 'next'.
Richard, when you get it, maybe post an updated list of the countries visited (and a calculation of how many km's the book has traveled :O)  ?

Received the book in good order,  thanks to DT.  I'm not a fast reader,  but it's off to S. A.  as soon as I'm done.

So far, an amusing read, if not exactly a literary masterpiece. (Robert Pirsig's legacy is safe.)

Places thus far visited:

Spain
USA x2
Australia
Isle of Man
Norway
Canada
England
Brazil

Sooo many more possibilities: Groily (France), Anji (India), Emilios (Cyprus), Bob (NZ), Markus (Austria), etc., etc., etc. Oh that reminds me, we do have a member in Thailand but I can't remember his name, or user name.

Of course, next stop is South Africa.

I'd be more than happy to receive it and pass it on to the next Triumph owner. No Triumph in my garage, but I can have a good friend sign up for me ('71 OIF Bonnie owner), fair 'nuff  ;D
Use a snow-proof packing box when sending stuff to Austria this time of the year *warn*  *smile*

As I understand it, and certainly in my case, owning a Triumph is not a prerequisite to receiving the book. Not that far in, but amusing regardless of make of bike.

Was originally for T owners only, but in view of the interest on the forum I suppose it's fine to relax the rules (the original instigator of the 'around the world' book project will surely forgive us).

Quote
if not exactly a literary masterpiece
nor was it ever meant to be, but a very fine diary about a journey few would ever dare to try, not to speak of succeed in completing (and coming home in one piece). I can imagine myself (gasp) in some of the situations the guy had to endure!

Not there yet, in the book, but I'm thinking the trip through Mexico and Central America may prove to be dangerous.
