First Club run of the year

First club ride of the year today. I counted 26 bike at Rushmere for the 10:30 start, a very good turnout. 24 made it to our first stop at 'Garnetts Gardens cafe' just outside Hacheston, in nice sunshine, tea and cakes all round. We then proceeded to the Posh Pigs Cafe, on Beccles airfield for lunch where large quantities of food arrived very quickly for such a large group, I left very full. We then headed back toward home, with about 15 stopping at Sizewell for another cupper. 96 miles door to door for me and an excellent start to the session. So 26 Bikes started and 6 were good old BSA parrallel twins.

No unfortunately Luke could not join us, he works in retail and so misses lots of runs, he is also a scout leader for a group that meets on a Tuesday evenings and so misses all our Tuesday runs.

Felt like it. Maybe you don't know how cold it can be here in April. Last night I needed to use the mattress storage bag that I'd bought specially as a survival bag! In my sleeping bag I use a silk bag liner, plus I had my underwear on plus a fishermans fleece onesie with the hood up, socks, my silk riding undergloves, and I still needed to pull my motorcycle jacket over me! I downed half a bottle of good Ozzie red wine before turning in....I still woke up a few times when the cold had seeped in!

There was supposed to be another ride out today but due to the poor weather forecast everybody set off for home.

Next weekend it's the Cheshire camp. I'll try to take some photos.
